Let’s try to understand SEO with a simple example.

Assume you want to buy a second hand car, you will go to Google and search for used car or second hand car or pre-owned car.

Google will show you search results with paid ads and organic.

You will click on either paid results or you may click on organic result. You may click on one result or you may click on more than one result and visit that website.

If you find what you were looking for, you may stay there and take next action. If you don’t find what you were looking for, you will either go to another website or change your search query to get best result.

In this example, you were able to see paid results and free results. Usually, people click on both. Depending on what they were searching for or depending on their intention.

As we all know, paid results are ads and other results are organic results.

Showing your website on the first page of Google for the right keywords is known as SEO. In simple words, SEO means getting visibility in organic search results without paying for search Ads or Google Ads.

A major difference between SEO and PPC is about how traffic is received. SEO is used to get unpaid traffic by optimizing a website and writing SEO friendly content, while PPC is paid advertising technique used for getting paid traffic from search engines or social media channels.

On-page SEO is the practice of optimizing individual web pages of the website to improve by optimizing title, description, URL, content, navigation and other on-page elements of website to improve ranking in search engine.

What is off-page SEO?

Off-page SEO is also known as off-site SEO. Off-page SEO includes techniques like link-building and social media sharing to improving website ranking in search engine. off-page SEO is mainly used for improving website authority and trust.

Organic traffic is also known as unpaid traffic. Unpaid traffic comes from organic results in search engines or traffic received from social media, YouTube channels, other channels without spending money for getting traffic.
